I went grocery shopping this morning….
And I now know what we will all be doing during the virus apocalypse.
Baking.
Because there wasn’t a freaking bag of flour for miles.
There was beef, but no chicken.
Tissues, but no paper towels.
Ham, but no bacon.
Macaroni, but no spaghetti.
You never know what will disappear next. Although I did notice there was plenty of kale…. which makes it official.
If all that’s left on the shelves is kale? I will starve to death.
… it is a good thing that the symptoms of wu-flu isn’t diarrhea. They would clear the shelves of mouthwash.
You could parboil the kale leaves and use them for TP …

Finally!
An appropriate use for kale!
You’re a genius.

It’s so weird that all the things one doesn’t need for this stupid virus are the ones that are all gone.

Our store was out of bacon.
Bacon!
That will help fight the virus.

And flour, I mean everyone knows you need flour to fight a virus….🙄

Just got back from the grocery store. From this adventure I’ve learned that frozen okra and seafood broth are going to be the last foods on earth, should it come to that.

And kale.
Don’t forget the kale!

Kale? You have kale?
I’m on my way! I’m gonna buy it all and drive up the demand when the supply runs out.
I’m gonna make me a fortune.

I just thought you should know… More on WordPress.com below your blog post is taunting you. They posted Keto Green Smoothie Recipe and Crispy Kale Chips: Best Snakc Ever! It made me chuckle. 😉 Better luck next time at the grocery store. I went this morning, wasn’t as bad as I expected.

No!! Stop the kale insanity.
There’s no such thing as a good kale recipe!

So the kale recipe that omits the kale isn’t a good one?

A kale dish without kale?
Acceptable.

I used to stock the salad bar at a restaurant that I won’t name–let’s just say it rhymes with “Coneys”–and we used kale as a garnish. Because no one would eat it. Also it lasted days. That’s right: we’d recycle the kale.
Now that I think about it COVID-19 might have been bred in the recycled kale on the salad bar and I’m deeply sorry.
On the bright side I see birthday candles there. I think you should get some as a sign of optimism.

Recycled kale! As if it wasn’t bad enough the first time…..
Ack!

Think that’s bad? Don’t eat the chili from Wendy’s.

And when kale is found to be some superfood against… oh I don’t know… a plethora of ailments?

I really have a problem with garnishments.
My momma always made me eat everything on my plate… so…

Same here. Couldn’t get the brown sugar I needed. The husband noticed black beans were low but lima beans were in huge supply. No surprise there!

We had lots of sugar but no flour. So whatever we’re baking? It’s not sweet.

I heard tell a tale of a male who brewed ale from kale and called it K ALE. Surely you’d not fail to avail yourself of a grail (if not a pail) of such ale.

This sounds like an epic fail… from which, even if on sale and available by mail… I shall bail.

We just managed to get some bacon when we went shopping. And there was plenty of chicken, if all you want is chicken breasts. They were absolutely cleaned out of toilet paper, tissues, and there were exactly two rolls of paper towels. 🤷♀️

You have chicken? I have tissues. Maybe we can meet in the alley behind the grocery store after dark and make a deal.

Find the guy that cut back on the toilet paper order so he could fit a crate of kale into the truck. Make him sit there and eat every leaf.

You didn’t give us a status on the beer aisle. I bet there is plenty of Corona left.

The beer and liquor aisles were full. Clearly, people have their priorities mixed up.

I haven’t started stocking up on real essentials yet, so my next post will probably be about how good beer is, over ice cream.
