.
It’s that time of year again.
.
.
The white time.
.
.
The first N’or Easter, dump a foot of snow time.
.
.
The time of year I seriously love my husband because he goes out in the middle of the storm to feed the hungry birds.
.
.
And yes, it was entirely his idea. Yours truly does not venture outside in 10 degree 40 mph wind for anyone. No matter how cute and fluffy.
.
.
The majority of snow removal took place this morning.
.
.
And the measured height was 11.5 inches.
Welcome winter! A white Christmas is looking good.
❄️❄️❄️
.
We are not to get snow till Christmas Eve IF then. It’s brown and barren and not Christmasy at all. Oh, and I have someone to plow my driveway this year. I’ll stand inside drinking hot coffee as I watch them. LOL

We had a dusting a week ago, but this is our first real snow of the year. It’s weird, but the older I get the more I like it.

We haven’t rec’d anything yet. Just a 1″ dusting.

We got dumped on in Nova Scotia, too. Somewhere between 25 and 35 centimetres. I’m too lazy to do the conversion! Temperatures are supposed to go up next week.
You and your husband are wonderful people, to look after wildlife the way you do.

It’s funny… he groans every time I buy more bird seed, but he’s always the one asking,”Did you feed the birds today?”

Where are you located? So far for us this winter has been very mild compared to what it usually is. A lot of us are scared that it’s going to dump on us in January. Last year and the year before we had snow mounds the height of our house! LOL. We are in the Northern Mid West (ND), USA.

We’re in Maine. Some years we’re buried… other years not so much.

Last time I got a bunch of snow like that, I went shopping for a home where the county doesn’t even own a snow plow. Donated the snow blower to a distant cousin and held a snow shovel exorcism …
All I can say is better thee than meee!

It’s funny, I used to hate it. But the older I get, the more I enjoy it. And the bigger the storm the better. Give me a foot over an inch any day!

I never understood that whole S(*& (I don’t use 4 letter words!) blower thing–all it does is make higher mountains of snow!!

Higher mounds on the sides that you don’t have to drive or walk through… yes.

Your post brings out the old song lover in me. They don’t write song lyrics like this any more:
THERE’S NO BUSINESS LIKE SNOW BUSINESS
I DON’T WANT IT, YOU CAN HAVE IT, IT’S TOO MUCH FOR ME
SNOW LONG, IT’S BEEN GOOD TO SNOW YOU

This was a good first storm. We got about 14″, but everyone has been fed (even me).

I don’t like it. Once there’s snow… I want it to stay.

I am so hoping for snow again soon. We have had only a couple inches so far this season. We kept the birds fed regardless of weather too. But our feeder is like 3 feet from the front door! I love the fact that your hubby goes to extremes to take care of the little creatures during harsh weather! 🌞

I like that white look way better than the brown look we have.

When we lived down south winter didn’t feel like winter without snow.
