.
There’s a small company in Rollinsford New Hampshire that produces some very tasty hard cider. I discovered them at a bar in NH two years ago and have yet been able to find it in Maine.

Welcome to part two of the liquid Saturday tour. North Country Cider.
.

.
Housed on the bottom floor of an old mill.
.

.
It was actually a tiny place, not much to see… but we were there, so we drank.
.

.
The flight was interesting. I didn’t care for the cranberry…. but the Wulf Kitty, with tart cherry, tangerine zest and ginger? Ooh la la!
.

.
After drinking our fill we walked around the old mill and realized they must have let the flood waters course right under the first floor back in the day.
Then it was back inside the store.
.

.
Where I bought two four packs of Squashed, their seasonal offering that I had discovered and loved two years ago. Wood fire roasted Kabocha squash cider, with ginger and a hint of nutmeg. It’s bizarre, and quite delicious.
I also picked up a four pack of this:
.

.
I have no idea how it tastes, but with a name like that? How could I not.
.
Then, you’ll love a beer I heard of called “Ear Infection”…

I might have to pass on that one. Although I have tried Old Engine Oil…

Squash infused cider? No thanks. I will stick to my Stella Artois Hard Cidre.

It’s weird, but heavenly. Still made with apples but with so much more flavor.

Okay, but I would not eat apples and squash on the same plate, so no reason to think I want the two mixed in my libations.

To be honest, I hate squash and never eat it. The cider just has a cinnamon nutmeg spice palette, you don’t taste squash.

Cinnamon and apple? Now that sounds like something I could try. I like summer squashes, but hate winter squashes.

I dislike squash period. Trust me, all you taste is autumnal goodness.

Drats they do not distribute outside of the New England area ! Sometimes it seems like Hard Cider is Hard ( to find ) Cider. Drinkum if you got em.

Heck, I live in Maine and can’t find it up here either. We had to drive to the source across the NH border. They’re still small batch but assured me they’re trying to expand their distribution area. They ship to most states so I may have to order mine.

Have you ever made cider or hard cider with your windfall of fall apples?

That sounds like fun! Although $100 – $150 to sit in my own house and drink seems a bit over the top.

I feel the same . . . especially since the featured author isn’t really my cup of mead. 😯

I’ve read a few of his, but I can drink for free without him.
