Autumn is the traditional season of harvest. Pumpkins, apples, squash. But yours truly prefers the liquid version…
.
.
Harvest Sangria!
.
.
This drink is da bomb and I’m not ashamed to say I had three with lunch the other day.
.
.
Looking out the extremely dirty window is some fall foliage on the river, an old mill and the historic bridge the town keeps trying to replace.
.
.
Inside there was a calamari appetizer with orange hoisin sauce to share, a crab roll for me….
.
.
And seafood scampi with scallops, shrimp and mussels for the hubs.
Life is good.

Good thing I already ate lunch. Yum!!

We love the drinks and atmosphere/location of this place, but the food is hit or miss. Nice that we hit it this time.

“And seafood scampi with scallops, shrimp and mussels. ” I could eat that every day—day after day after day!

Can’t say that I ever thought of seafood as a fall treat, other than Aunt Gerda’s (shudder) canned oyster turkey dressing. Pumpkin went into a pie. There was only one ingredient in booze.
I sure miss those times, but I think I could easily dispatch that crab roll with a beer chaser. Heck, I might even enjoy crafty beer with it …

This is a craft brewery in a converted old mill on the water. Very popular here.

We went to a shopping centre today to buy clothes and shoes, the first time since lockdown several months ago. Life is better!

I see pear vodka on the menu. That looks divine.
Also, the calamari with the hoisin sauce. Yum.
