Of baseball and cheap chicken.

.

Spring is back… and so is baseball!

.

.

Though the evil empire managed to beat my beloved Sox two out of three at Yankee Stadium in the opening series. I fear for our bull pen this year, but we have good bats, so my fingers are crossed for a good year.

I continue to be astounded by the cheap prices at the meat counter at the military commissary in Bangor.

.

.

We’re making a once a month pilgrimage and if I buy nothing but beef, chicken and pork it’s well worth the drive.

.

.

But finding the laundry detergent that costs me $17 at the grocery store for $9? That makes me one extremely happy shopper.

And lastly, because it’s been a while….

  1. I envy yet congratulate you for being able to shop the military commissary when you can. Prices are getting out of hand, I’ll barely be able to feed Charles wet food if inflation doesn’t cease soon. I’m not a big baseball fan but good luck to you and your Red Sox this year.

  2. The Jays play the sox tonight. Looking forward to the game. Prices really have gone up. We have a local meat market that has very reasonable prices still. Limited selection but good prices. Chicken, beef and pork. Wonderful pork rib roasts that are very inexpensive. Very tasty local chicken also affordable. And it is only a 10 minute drive. We consider ourselves lucky to have this place
