.
The miracle I’ve dreamed of for nigh on two decades has finally happened. My husband, crap hoarder extraordinaire…is going to sell some of his junk treasure at a flea market.
Be still my heart.
.

.
Pieces were chosen, collected and researched for current market value.
.

.
Okay, that last part was all me. But I hope to recoup some of the tens of thousands of dollars he’s probably spent on this stuff over the years and don’t trust him not to give it away.
John Maddock English chamber pot circa 1870? Lidless, but still deserving of a $70 price tag. Hey, if nothing else… it will make a great planter.
.

.
And I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to see the last of this beast.
.

.
Circa 1903, it weighs an utter ton and yours truly has dragged it from the truck to the cellar to the garage to the second floor of the barn and back down to the truck…. hopefully for the last time.
Yay!
.

.
Old doorknob, hammered aluminum tray and non working Xmas lights from the 50’s?
Bye bye!
.

.
A truck packed with things I hope to never see again is a beautiful sight.
But I almost forgot the best part!!!
I didn’t have to get up at 1:00am, to leave at 2:00am, to drive two and a half hours out of state to help him unpack, set up, sit in the baking sun and heat for 8 hours, pack up whatever he didn’t sell and drive two and a half hours back home. I didn’t! Because he had a friend who actually wanted to.
Life is good my friends. Very, very good.
Of course I’m a supportive wife and filled a cooler full of sandwiches, fruit, cold drinks…
.

.
And a big bowl of freshly made broccoli salad.
It’s got a pound of bacon in it… what’s not to love?
.
Awesome! 😀

So is it a thing ? Do they make adult human flea collars to wear to flea markets ? Do they huh ?

I’ve seen some of the patrons… if not? They should.

I believe all of our Christmas lights are in working order, and I can confirm they are all from the current decade. Good variety of flea market items here, with the better goodness as you pointed out being you don’t have to haul, stage, and sell ’em.

But first, he has to find buyers. No idea how far you live from St. Andrews, New Brunswick, but they have a Farmer’s Market there that draws tourists from all over the world. Wednesdays, 8AM till the tourists disappear, usually about 2 or 3 o’clock. I did Chair Massages there for a couple of summers. I did okay, but I watched dealers with “things” take home $1000s in a day. That was 20 years ago, but I cannot imagine it has diminished in attendence, except for Covid. A couple hours over the border at St. Stephen (memory is shot on travelling time). Saint John had a weekly flea market too, but that was farther down the road. No idea what border patrol allowed across the border, though.
For your sake, hope hubs gets rid of it all, but some of those things look pretty exclusive at market prices.

He’s went to a large well known antique flea market in Massachusetts. We stopped there years ago and it was flooded with wealthy tourists from NYC. My fingers are crossed .

Good luck to you both.

You must have been praying to the right gods of junk. Hope it all goes and he is hooked and will want to sell some more.

I seriously doubt that will happen. But half would be nice…

I am mildly surprised you didn’t go anyway if for no other reason than to cheer lead …

Did I mention he left at 2:00am?

At the end of the day let’s see if he spends more than he makes and brings home less than he started with!!!

Do you think he’ll buy anything? Maybe swap A for B?

He didn’t. Which is a miracle in itself.

I’ve never come home empty handed from a flea market.

This is so awesome! (and the broccoli salad looks amazing!) I hope he could get rid of a good amount of it. *crossing my fingers and toes*
