What’s blooming?

This weirdo bush was in place when we moved in 20 years ago. It blooms well, in big fuzzy pink blossoms.

Bees and butterflies love it, so even though it clashes with our red baby barn… it stays.

In my front bed? A small salvia that doesn’t get any larger year to year but keeps hanging on.

Then there’s my little daisy.

She’s so bright and cheerful, I went back to the same nursery later that season and bought two more of her.

But as you can see, her big sister is large.

Soooo much larger than they were supposed to be. They don’t even bloom at the same time. Major daisy fail.

  4. Hey, be grateful they bloom at all. I’m struggling over here with the plants I bought trying to take in my front yard. I don’t know what is causing them to hang on by a threat. And I found I have grub worms in the little patches of grass I do have. My nice neighbor assessed my barely living lawn, brought a small hand shovel and low and behold……fucking grub worms!!!

  5. Beautiful! I loved seeing pink spiraea growing wild in Idaho’s mountains on my trail runs. Now, here in Vermont, I’m finding a white version blooming in the woods, and one managed to find a foothold in my yard. Love them.

  7. What a lovely, colorful bed. I ADORE daisies; they were my Mom’s favorite flower.
    I think that might be a Panama Rose? I planted some a few months ago, so mine are pretty small, but the blooms look the same. I planted it for the bees and butterflies. Are you surprised?
