So much for that.

.

In case anyone was wondering why I haven’t posted about the husband’s clean up the crap filled cellar project lately, there’s a reason.

.

.

And that reason is him getting bored and dropping it like a hot rock.

.

.

Only a third of the ceiling was completed… and it was at that point I think he realized he was in over his head.

Literally and figuratively.

.

.

So while there are areas you can see the floor….

.

.

It’s still a junk filled nightmare.

  1. Oh dear. And of course helping his sister has taken up some time, I’ll bet. Still, in all my time following your blog, I don’t think I can recall a time when your husband got bored of a project and just dropped it. Maybe it’s the warming weather and he’ll get back to it in fall???

    1. He’s usually tenacious with his projects so this is a bit of an anomaly. I think the sheer amount of work involved… not to mention being bombarded by that massive volume of junk… became too much, even for him.
      🤣

      1. I concur on the heĺp of others, possibly even professionals. Yeah, he is a proud guy, and likes to accomplishp these things himself, but there comes a time when a person realizes the task is bigger than just him. A stubborn man gives up. A wise man asks for help. A wise woman helps a stubborn man become wise.

      2. So you hire people who specialize in cleaning out old homes (Estate buyers.). They come in and clean out by the truckload, and even pay you to do it. They sort througn your stuff, throw out the useless, and keep the things of vslue to be auctioned off for their profit.
But that was 40 years ago I worked for the auctioneer. Maybe they don’t do such things anymore. They didn’t pay much, every house was a gamble. (Kind of like Storage Wars, but not as dramatic!) But our auctioneer always found something to make the work profitable — as long as us employees did not damage things in transit, lol. But that is another story…

  2. Have you considered telling him that he has supporters in River’s world and he’s letting us, (Well, me) down. If a deep concern for the feelings of strangers with no business in the matter doesn’t get him going, nothing will. Is that a partial Mustang I see?

    1. Husband thinks I gave up blogging years ago. He has no idea all of you even exist.
And while it wouldn’t surprise me he’s hiding a car down there? That photo was just a funny meme I found.

    1. He’s pretty scattered right now. His sister, his uncle, the planning board he just joined, yard work now that it’s spring. Still actively pushing going back to work. He’s also on a crusade for Pine Tree Power. Long story… don’t ask.
I doubt he’ll be in the cellar again anytime soon.
