.
We woke up to some snow this morning in Maine.
.

.
And the husband got busy digging us out first thing.
.

.
It was light and relatively fluffy.
.

.
But still a lot to move.
.

.
It’s hard to tell how much fell, as the wind was blowing last night and there were significant drifts.
.

.
But I’d say it was over a foot.
.

.
And if you’re wondering what I was doing while the husband was out there hard at work?
.

.
I was making use of the leftover ham I baked yesterday by making a split pea soup (which I hate but the husband adores)…
.

.
And some ham salad for sandwiches. Which doesn’t look appetizing but is quite tasty.
😊

Not as much as we thought, but it just started again.

I’m with your husband on the split pea soup. Alas, Tara is with you on her distaste for split pea soup.

It takes all day to cook and the house reeks of it.
It’s a testament to how much I love him that I make it…

Man. I guess Tara doesn’t love me enough. We’re going to have words over the lack of split pea soup in this house, believe you me.

Yeah.
Good luck with that…

Equally as good for a snow day!

The snow was all south of us, aside from daily dustings for a few days. But I guess I can console myself with the fact that it doesn’t melt when it stays below zero (F) for days on end.

Split pea soup sounds perfect for a big snowy day. I love your photos of the snow drifts. I haven’t seen anything like that since I was a kid on ski vacations.

That’s what I figured.
Good thing there’s some leftover Chinese food in the fridge for me…

Wow you got a lot more snow than we did!!! I’m quite impressed! We had about six inches that came in two batches. The first batch turned to a slush mixed with rain and then froze. The second batch fell on top of it overnight. Quite a mess out there!

Thankfully we were cold enough for it to stay all snow.

I love ham salad, but I share your feelings on the pea soup. I don’t like peas fixed any way. I don’t like the flavor or the texture.

I’m not a pea person either. If I have to, I can tolerate a few cold ones in pasta salad but I’d rather not.

We got more than a foot of snow but the same kind of powdery light fluffy stuff which is just beautiful now that the sun is out.
But in this high density neighborhood, there’s no place left to put the snow. So until spring can we please not have any more?

I’ll take yours.
We have room.

It looks lovely. And how sweet of you to make split pea soup which I’m not a fan of either!

I do it every time I have a ham bone.
It’s simple enough and he loves it.
