Just some more cute pictures of our backyard nibblers.

Momma chuck still looks peeved.

But from what I can tell she’s down to 3 hold out children who won’t leave home.

Mourning dove bonus on this shot.

I’d be peeved to if the kids ate that much and still lived at home, lol.

That may explain why I’m peeved all the time! Ha! Mona

Those doves photobombed the chucks. Maybe they’re looking to get in on the buffet?

They have their own buffet of seeds.

Early August meal…there’s still plenty of food! She’ll probably kick them out right before the first frost.

Chuckers hibernate through winter so she’d better do it sooner than that…

I wouldn’t leave either if I were a little one. It’s safer with Momma

Funny thing is she’s been batting them away and leaving them alone all day.

Maybe she is having problems finding them jobs. And the kids aren’t leaving till they are forced to. Remind you of anyone (that isn’t us)?

Last month, here in Oz, a lettuce was worth $10. Last week I went to a fermentation course and was asked to bring a cabbage – a drumhead was $17 and a purple cabbage was $13. No wonder they ain’t leaving home!

The produce section is now as shocking as the laundry detergent aisle. It’s crazy.

Get a glasshouse and or vege patch going River, seriously. I know you’ve got the guy over the road, but he won’t be able to feed everyone. Collect all the bird and animal crap and put it in a bin to keep for fertiliser.
