Deer, a dump run, and rude hosiery.

.

Our backyard herd is finally starting to assemble.

.

.

Only five right now, but winter is here. Though you wouldn’t know it from our still green grass. (Photo taken last week. There’s an inch of wet snow right now)

.

.

We have a beautiful buck again this year.

.

.

He’s firm, fit and keeps a close eye on his harem. As well as our bird feeders which he loves to empty.

In other news a small miracle happened the other day. While working on his project down in the cellar my husband decided he would throw a few things out and headed to the dump.

I was happy! I was surprised! I was beyond thrilled!

.

.

Until I realized 95% of what he threw out was mine. Hope springs eternal…. but rarely turns out the way I like.

.

.

I honestly can’t think of a single person to whom I would gift these awful socks… or a single female friend of mine who would wear them.

And for that, I’m thankful.

Lastly, I saw this.

.

.

Uh oh.

    1. For the past decade or so we’ve had a nice buck. This one is smaller than years past but still a nice looking fellow.
The cat has been surprisingly good with his first indoor tree. So far at least…

  1. Love your Charlie Brown table tree … 🥰

I would like to borrow your husband to model some behavior…

The man here decided to shop for Christmas lights for the tree because he can’t find one of 3 bins of lights from last year. I had a conniption then went into the attic myself (don’t recommend) and found one of the three bins among the camping gear which, incidentally, was covered in inches of dust which tells you how needed that shit is. Also, clearly, they were up there at some point moving stuff around because I group like items together and since I don’t camp I didn’t put the xmas bins there … 😬🤯

Then I took away his credit and debit cards and shredded them (that’s a lie but I really wanted to). 😛

    Meh.

    1. The trunk was given to me years ago. I wanted to put it out in the man cave but was refused. Since then it’s been sitting in a damp part of the basement rotting in a puddle. The bottom was pretty much gone. But yea, he trashed my broken reindeer as well.

    1. They’re real. My husband broke the ‘we have too much stuff so we won’t exchange gifts’ rule we’ve stuck to for the past few years so I had to do some last minute shopping.

  2. I don’t know what Dudley is fixated on, but I think he just might be able to reach it … though I suspect that the target is fixated to the tree, and the tree will need to be brought down to ground level.

That’s the way his ancestors hunted tree ornaments …

  3. What beautiful Deer and Buck. What does Dudley think of them? I hope he has lots of toy distractions instead of the tree! Lol..Good to see your hubby getting rid of stuff although you might want to store your stuff, elsewhere so he moves his own.

    1. Lord Dudley sits on the back of the couch and watches intently when they visit.
As for storing my stuff, he has the garage, the shed, the top floor of the barn, the storeroom next to the woodshed, 3 closets and 1600 sq feet of the basement. I have sq 400 feet of it, one room that he still can’t stay out of.
      😠
