.
These are the stone samples we brought home from the hardware store.
.

.
They’ve been sitting by our kitchen door for a month waiting for my husband to be ready for that part of the porch replacement project.
Every once in a while I move them to sweep.
Yesterday?
I dropped one on my big toe instead.
I don’t recommend that.
At all.
.

.
Nope.
Not fun.
.

Needless to say I won’t be going to that friend’s 4th of July party today. It hurts to walk and forget about putting on a shoe, I can’t even tolerate a sock. My fingers are crossed I won’t lose the toenail…
😩
Hope everyone else has a happier holiday!
.
ouch! i must acknowledge the fact that you sweep around the samples. but i guess this’ll teach you to be so thorough.

Ho-lee Mother of pearl, that had to hurt. To paraphrase Mark Twain, “In times of duress, profanity offers a relief normally reserved for prayer.” Having read your blog it’s evident that profanity is not to your taste. I’m here to help.
” GOD DAM* SUMBI*CH PIECE OF M*OTHERFUCKING SH*T! Hope this helps. Go Navy.

OUCH!!!!!
Well, from observed experience, you’ll lose the toenail, but another will already be rising from the skin and solid after a couple of days.

Holy hell, I’m sorry River. That’s a total bummer, and I too hope you don’t lose a nail. Well, some cool, refreshing adult beverages can help for the pain 🍺🍷🍸🥃🍹

And if I could hobble out to the bar, I might have one.

OWIE! I feel you. Have lost two big toenails in the past two years due to big dog stepping on them, but not so dramatically nor with blood (the old toenails died an ugly death over months while the new ones mostly grew in underneath). I still only have 3/4s of a nail on one foot, so no pretty pedicures for me. And yeah, sometimes even socks still hurt. Sorry about your holiday and the pain. Husband should bring you ice and ibuprofen on a regular basis while you prop up foot.

I am impressed at the lengths you went to to get a photo today that is red, white, and blue?

You poor thing. You will lose that nail. I dropped a case of canned milk on my toe and damaged nail bed when I was a kid. That nail is still shaped funny.
