Below is our dark doe on the right, so named because her coat never really fades in the summer. She’s a big healthy girl.

Do you feed them in the winter?

That’s all we used to do because the herd would move on in the spring. But last year they stayed through early summer so we kept feeding. This year the mothers brought their fawns so we’ve fed steadily. Maine winters are tough. Every bit helps.
