I’ve never been bothered by spiders. I don’t scream and jump on a chair, I never smash them with a shoe. They’re marvelous bug eaters and if they happen to take up residence where I don’t want them? I happily relocate them outside. So when I saw this on Facebook the other day….
.

.
I was surprised at the outpouring of malice.
.

.
That seems a little extreme.
.

.
Unless you’re dressed as a fly? I highly doubt it.
.

.
So much spider hatred. I mean come on…. some of them are cutie pies.
.

.
If people would do a little research before they kill things they would find out the things they want to kill? would save them from the things that ACTUALLY want to kill you.

I’m not a spider hater either, I do what you do. I pick them up with a paper, cardboard or a jar and relocate them outside. I mean come on, seriously they eat mosquitos, now those little bloodsucking bastards need to die!

Exactly. Anything that makes a mosquito its lunch is alright with me.

Living in brown recluse and black widow utopia, spiders, scorpions and other arachnids get the bomb and vacuum treatment here … if they value their life, they will stay out beyond the verges …

True, your insects are a tad more lethal than ours. Maine bugs are pacifists…but then we are a blue state.

Little Ms. Rg sat on hubby’s knee, eating her curds and whey.
Along came a spider who down beside her, and made Ms. Rg’s day.

I’m not sure I’d go that far, but okay.

I freaked out when realizing, just last year, that curds & whey is cottage cheese. There was something not right about Little Miss Muffet!! I’ll reserve opinions about Ms R!!

Ms. R doesn’t like cottage cheese.

I’m no hater! My husband has a phobia and it’s either kill them or risk losing my eyes to an exaggerated eye roll.

I always vote for a good eye roll.

We tend to relocate them outside.

Depending on the size will decide their fate…if the cats don’t get them, first.

Is bigger better… or worse?

Small have a chance..I might even save them. Large really need to go! Daddy Long Legs are the exception. They are nice and actually look kind of cool.

I don’t do well with spiders. But you’re right about their bug eating. I do love that about them. Still. Shiver.

Start with a cute one and work your way up.

I’m not afraid of sharks but have intense arachnophobia!! My guideline is that spiders, of reasonable size, will be left alone so long as they stay 1′ or more away from me.
I only recently began to be able to handle Daddy LongLegs like I did as a kid!
I dunno what’s in that pic (wolf spiders look kinda fuzzy) but completely agree that burning down the house is appropriate! 😆

Daddies are such gentle souls…. how can anyone wish them harm?

I happily remove Daddy Long legs, but all the other spiders SCARE the shit out of me. I have a deep fear of them. Sorry. 😦

But they’re so tiny… and fragile.
