The sign of a disorganized mind?

.

My husband started working from home in March of 2020, you know… the year when life as we knew it ended. This means he took over my (always neat, clean and organized) office.

The husband?

Not so neat, clean and organized.

In case you didn’t know, he is the King of Post Its.

Files? Who needs ‘em when you have open wall space.

The overflow covered my printer…

And the top of my A through F collection of vinyl.

Yes, my old record albums are crated alphabetically.

I told you I was organized.

  1. Once upon a time, my life was so organized, in my head, I knew where every item I ever needed was, just by thinking about it. I could stash it anywhere, and when I needed it it was right there. Lately I can stash things right where Gail says they belong, and I cannot find them for the life of me. Not her fault, she is trying to help me. My iron-trap mind has been released once too often, and nothing sticks anymore, including Post-It notes. Fortunate I retired in 2011, not willingly, but medically. I had a concussion that the doctors at first said never happened, so no treatment. Three months later they decided I has Post-Concussion Syndrome. I’ve never really recovered from that. To me it is not a Syndrome, it is total mental DISORDER.
The above is not what I started to say,but I forgot what that was.

    1. I hear you. Iron traps tend to loosen over time, even without concussions. But my husband has been a disorganized mess since the day I met him. It’s a full time job keeping our house from being buried.

      1. My partner feels for you. I really thought she had accepted that our house will never be clean again, but when I told her about your predicament she let me know she really can’t stand my messes, but she can’t fight them anymore. Yup, between you and hubby and Gail and me, there are so many commonalities that it is like we are living the same lives in different places. Almost makes me feel sorry for you, but only almost.

      2. I used to clean and organize our basement every six months. I’d box and sweep and declutter…. Only to have the husband fill the space again. I, like Gail, gave up. But only on the basement, garage, shed and his closet. No piles in the house!

      1. I REALLY don’t like doing dishes!! The TOP of the stack, from just before I switched to paper, has a cup from HALLOWEEN!!

I used to at least rinse before stacking. But this pile has dried crud.

I last threw away dishes, 8bstead of washing, around 2000 – before I got this house.

      2. Np, you shouldn’t like it! It’s not as gross as it reads but it’s gross. I have the ability not to see things. Plus I barely use my kitchen. I keep half the sink clean for use. Maybe this convo will inspire me to wash & trash.
