Nothing earth shattering today, just wanted to share a few recent photos of my glorious Maine.

The first three are from a friend on the Island I moved to when I was 14.

The sunsets are hard to beat.

This last shot is from my current town, shared by a resident during a recent storm.

No wonder Maine’s state slogan is….

That used to be our sign. Then the disgraceful governor Paul LePage changed it to “open for business”. He’s running again, which is truly cringe worthy.

I didn’t know about the ‘soulless’ change. Without looking it up, I’m surmising that Paul LePage is a Republican.

He is, and ride the Trump train to office. We ousted him last election but now he’s back.

It took me just shy of thirty five years to get to Weaverville. That’s a long time to go without a hometown. I’ve visited a lot of places, including Maine (Definitely glorious), but no place calls to me like this one. I’m certain you understand. Beautiful photos, thanks for giving us all a look.

When you find the home that calls to you? You put down your roots and hang on tight.

My roots always ran kind of shallow and I thought they always would. It took a few years to happen but eventually I integrated and became part of the community. People know my name and, mostly, treat me like a friend. My roots have started running deep. I always wished for that. It’s a great thing and I’m happy for anyone who finds it.

And this is why Maine is near the top of our must-see travel destinations. Maybe even as soon as next fall.
