After a horribly dry drought filled summer in Maine, we started to see some autumn rain.

You don’t realize how much you miss green grass until your lawn is brown and crunchy for a few months.

Add the beginning of turning fall leaves and you have the perfect combination of backyard colors.

Until this morning’s first frost.

A hard frost that looked like snow.
Seasons change, and I love it. But on Thursday it will be 70 degrees again, and that’s just Mother Nature screwing with us.
.
Wow! I am floored (or maybe Florida-ted) by that frost. It’s 78 degrees here this morning and we are loving it!
I’ll stop by on Thursday when your temps rebound. 😀

It looked like a hard frost, 30 degrees when I got up. But everything survived except my impatiens. They’re always the first to succumb.

We’re done with it……..passing along to you now. Enjoy!

This time of year we’re up and down. 30 this morning, bright sun and 60’s this afternoon. You never know…. but I just ordered $1,000 worth of fuel oil. It’s coming.

It’s strange, the older I get… the more I like it.

No frost yet nut we do have the early fall leaves. I’m planning on posting some pics when I gather enough together. It’s real cloudy so the colors aren’t that bright. Shouldn’t be long. Enjoy it while you have it.

No frost yet BUT, you may be some kind of a nut. I’d never hold that against you.

There were lots of things I liked about living down south. Having two seasons.. hot and hotter…. wasn’t one of them.

Mother Nature is definitely a bitch. She loves doing shit like that and doesn’t care how many people she pisses off either. Like here it was freaking 84 degrees on Sunday and today its a cooler 61, she is having hot flashes for sure. It’s still raining off and on here as well, I’ve cut my grass three times since last Weds.

Wow. We’re back to once a week from once a month, and with my bad knee that’s enough.

Frosty morning… but a beautiful windows open afternoon.

72° at dawn. A bit chilly for us. I had to turn the heater on when I drove to town.

Forty seven degrees in the morning here in Virginia… Heat and air conditioner have been off for over a week and the silence is beautiful!

We’ve been having lovely weather (windows open). But there is no frost…yet. I’m glad you got your green grass. ❤️

That hard frost is likely heading our way Friday night.

We could potentially get our first frost tomorrow morning. I’m not ready!
Your property looks beautiful, by the way.

Thanks. I’m never ready for the first frost, but thankfully this one didn’t kill much.
