.
My husband came home from breakfast with the boys last week to this.
.
.
A lovely old home up the road from us fully engulfed in flames.
.

.
Turns out the RV parked next to the house caught fire when the owner went out to start it. They were just getting ready for a trip to Florida and bam!
Their world exploded.
.

.
The next day?
.

.
Everything, a total loss.
.

.
I can’t even imagine. Thankfully everyone got out safely, even the dog. And I know they’re just things.
But still.
😰
.
Oh no…. So sorry to read this.

I can really feel for the homeowners and would just be engrossed in the moment. This happened to homeowners in our neighborhood (sort of) and they took up a collection for them. It worked well after the loss of the home.

Yes, the town has rallied multiple collection and donation sites to help.

Not to be insensitive, but Alberta is burning right now. Thousands of people are evacuated from their homes by almost 100 wildfires (at last count) raging uncontrolled (some under control for the moment) caused by drought, high winds, and unseasonably high temperatures — not to mention human stupidity!
In 2019 we had a huge forest fire around us and we were evacuated tor 3 weeks. Fortunately our town was kept safe by hundreds of firefighters, but others were not so lucky. Hundreds of homes burned to the ground.
Now these wildfires. The air is filled with so much smoke people all over are having trouble breathing. We won’t know how many people were made homeless for weeks, or maybe months.
Fire is a raging monster. It is to be feared.

Holy Shit! Glad everyone survived! So. do you claim that on your Auto insurance or your Homeowners insurance?

I’d say both.

Omg, that’s horrible. But they are safe and that’s what matters. Yes possessions are material but we spend a life time making a life with them and it hits hard when something like this happens.

Wow, what a shame. And an RV just randomly catching on fire like that? I didn’t think such a thing was possible.

It was relatively new and they’d just filled everything in preparation for their trip…
You just never know.

Yikes. I’ve got an RV sitting in my driveway just a few feet away from me as I write this. It’s a towable and not a driveable, but still . . . Glad everyone made it. Doubly glad the dog made it. I hope they have insurance.

That is so sad. I know, “just things” but we do get attached to some stuff. Hopefully they have good insurance and can make a fresh start.
