.
The rough work on the driveway repair was coming to a close.
.

.
Small loads of the top layer of dirt were finessed.
.

.
With numerous wheelbarrow trips.
.

.
Though not everyone was hard at work.
.

.
Lots of dumping. Lots of spreading by hand.
.

.
And then the crew whipped out a big power saw and started cutting away part of the road.
.

.
I didn’t realize they were allowed to do that, but clearly they are.
.

.
And when I say cut, I mean rip up big chunks as well.
.

.
Nest step? Smooth and pack the dirt.
.
.
And at the end of the day we were left with this.
.

.
Which we were told was a little too wet to pave so it would have to sit for a few days to dry.
We were also told not to drive on it. And since a lot of people use our driveway to turn around?
.

.
The husband built a blockade.
.
In comes the asphalt. Going to be an overwhelming odor, so be ready.

When these guys are done, are they going to sign the driveway in the bottom corner?

Probably not, but they should….

Let’s hope Mother Nature doesn’t rain on your ‘parkway’ the next “few days.” Meanwhile, I assume you’re having to drive over your lawn to get to the road to get to the store (or wherever you need to get).

We can’t as there’s a ditch running the entire length of the property. But way on the other side, past the man cave/Barn Mahal, is a grassed auxiliary entry….

Too bad they couldn’t grind up the old pavement and relay it. Lasts much longer than new pavement.

Ha! Of course the hubs put up a blockade, I wouldn’t expect anything less. You do have a very long drive way when you see it like that. A small price to pay to live in such a beautiful place.

For Maine it’s quite short. And for the price we’re paying… I wish it was shorter!

Does the turning-around-in-your-driveway thing bug you? Just curious, because I’ve been known to do that myself, but Tara avoids it at all costs.

It doesn’t bother me. It annoys my husband…

Is your husband the one with the shotgun?

Yes.
And you’d better stay off his lawn….

I guess they’re trying to ensure you have a good in and out at the road with no rain puddles. Looking good.
