Now that we’re in the drywall phase, the ceiling repair project’s daily progress has slowed considerably.

.
Mud. Let dry. Sand until the entire house is covered in white dust even though there’s a plastic barrier.
.

.
Repeat.
Our poor contractor works all day and I swear it looks the same in the evening as it did when he arrived in the morning.

.
But at least it won’t sag.
Wish my body came with a tag like that.
This afternoon two gallons of primer were applied and at least things are starting to look better.

It’s been a week and a half of discombobulation and I have to admit I’m ready for this to be done.
.
I hate jobs that, after all the work, look the same as when you started – it’s demoralizing. But, this is looking good.

After all this work, it should be perfect.

Sag-resistant doesn’t mean no sag in 10 years, only no sag if everything works perfectly. When does anything ever work perfectly? Especially if the roof finds a new place to leak…
Okay, everything is going yo work perfectly and the roof won’t leak for decades.
Gail is going for knee replacement Oct. 6th, if all goes well. Possible toadblock. They will not operste if they find as much as a scratch or needle puncture. We got 5 cats. Scratches snd claw punctures are a way of life… That better be a scare tactic, not a written in stone threat!

Nothing ever goes perfectly here, but the roof leak is finally fixed so that’s something.
Hope all goes well for Gail. No scratches? Clearly that doctor doesn’t have cats.

We did a kitchen remodel which ended up taking over six months – I was suicidal!

We’re doing bits and pieces here and there. Driveway. Back deck. Ceiling/beam. Next up is bedroom windows and exterior door. Then flooring. Wanted to do new front porch and more doors this year but we may run out if good weather.

I’m hoping that I won’t feel like that when I start to demo my kitchen in my DIY remodel. But since I’m doing it myself it just might. I think it looks awesome and can’t wait to see the new flooring and furniture!

And then it’s time to rip up the carpet, isn’t that your plan?

Bedroom windows and exterior door first, then flooring.
