It pisses me off, but I still want to shop there.

.

Am I the only one who was unaware what happens to unclaimed luggage?

.

.

Good question… and one I honestly never gave much thought. But if the airlines can’t reunite you with your lost bags?

Read on…

Whaaaat!

A veritable lost luggage Goodwill?

.

.

Omg.

This is almost enough to make me want to move back down south.

.

.

And while it ticks me off to think how many millions the airlines are making from what’s basically their incompetence…

I admit I really do want to shop there!

🥴

  1. Believe it or not, a sleeping bag that came loose from my luggage during a trip from Winnipeg, MB to Victoria, BC was delivered to my door 18 months later, even though it had no identifying matks anyone but my ex-wife and I could see. (She had sewn a flannel sheet inside the sleeping bag because she hated the feel of nylon against her skin, so it was definitely ours!) Records showed that it had travelled around the world 3 times, with 3 stops in the Phillipines. It had visited 5 of the 6 continents (missing only Antarctica), and over 20 countries. How Air Canada ever traced it back to us I’ll never know, but they did! That was circa 1982.
I guess if that had been an American airline it would have ended up for sale in Scotsbiro, Alabama.

      1. We were. The minute the plane touched down it started to pour — the first rain in months — and it poured for most if the 2 weeks we were there. We had planned a csmping vacation around Vancouver Island. It would have been real nice –if we had seen the sun more than one day.
Fortunately the airline bought us a new sleeping bag within hours of arriving, but the ex had to use it without the flannel sheet, so when we zipped the two bags together we used her bag under us, but the nylon over us bugged her the whole trip.

  2. Yeah, that pisses me off because most airlines give you a tag when you check it in. And your suitcase gets the identical tag put on it. Like how are all these suit cases so-called “lost?” When there are ways of finding who the belong to? Infuriating, what if someone went to this store and actually found their property, would they have to buy it back? 😡

  3. I agree with you. That would be a fun place to check out and shop. Mind you, they did say “Unclaimed” not actually “Lost” Luggage. If you’re to lazy or forgetful to get your Luggage, you deserve to have your stuff sold.
