Well, every culture has an umbilical cord tradition. Mexican American mothers use to take the fallen umbilical cord and bury it in the back of front yard. This was to ensure that their children would return home often. But I think that’s better than having it as a first toy…..yuck.

I always feel a hush whenever I see Native American totems. They appear so majestic and mysterious. I love the detail and imagination with every carving. Well done post!
