.
As you know, I’m a big hair girl.
.

.
And whether I wear it straight or curly…
.

.
I’m in constant need of powerful hair spray.
.

.
For the past 20 years I’ve been using this:
.

.
It’s cheap, but literally the only product that will hold my style all day.
It’s perfect, and I love it.
Which is why the company changed it, adding jojoba oil and sea kelp and ruining it completely.
.

.
Oh, the horror!
I searched everywhere, hoping to find the old original cans. Nothing.
I tried Amazon, but all they only have the new. Even if they show a photo of the old… beware.
I have half a can of the good stuff left and am parceling it out sparingly.
I have girlfriends looking for it in different areas, with clear instructions.
.

.
I am bereft.
And really dreading summer humidity…
😩
.
Omg! I feel your horror. My holy grail hairspray for the past 20 years is also an Aussie product: Sprunch Spray. I don’t know what I’d do if they changed it or stopped making it!

Hang on. If they changed mine, yours could be next and we’ll both have bed head.

It may be the only solution…

So why the merry hell are they changing it if it used to be so good and now it’s so bad? 🤔

Cheaper ingredients, probabpya higher price?

Could be. I for one would be willing to pay more if they bring it back.

Then they don’t need my spray!

My favorite hairspray has been discontinued, not a formula change, just gone. I’m a curly girl and understand the problem the wrong hairspray can cause.

This stuff was great, get it where you want it and freeze it. I keep trying other brands, cheap and expensive… nothing comes close.

What a disastrous move, WTF Aussie? So is the only other option Aquanet? lol

They don’t even make that anymore do they…? Talk about serious hold.
🤣

Yes they sure do, I’ve seen it many times on my trips to Target and Walmart.

I may have to try it.

I actually used this product (old can) a few times when I found it one day in Mrs. Chess’ “area”…and wanted something to hold in place my longer-ish hair at the time. Worked great. Gotta be frustrating the prior formula is no longer in supply.

It was good stuff!
Now you know why I’m bereft.

Welcome to the club. My wife and daughters have had similar experiences with hair spray (and other products). Fortunately I have not….but then, I don’t have much hair either, so I make do with a little Elmer’s glue.

If they made an aerosol can of Elmers I’d be willing to try it….

I’d try to find the old version in stores. Sometimes they sell the old one until they run out of their stock and have to order the new stuff.

Bastards! I will chew them out for you when I’m down there this summer (when I’m not busy searching for wombats for you). Good lord, this Australian vacation is becoming something of a work trip, Rivergirl!

Please do. They have no idea how they’ve wrecked (and wreaked for that matter) my world. Throw some wombat poo at them if warranted.

Why would they do such a thing? Are they mad at you about something?

I’ve never seen this brand here in Oz . Wondering if it’s made elsewhere like Asia and identifying as Aussie for marketing, hence its demise. If any info about company or distributor and where made, that might help you find a box.

That’s funny, no Aussie products in Australia. It shouldn’t surprise me…
