.
I thought finding a set of living room furniture my husband liked was hard, but we did it.
.

.
I thought finding a decent patterned fabric for the chair, ottoman and pillows was hard, but we’ve (tentatively) done that.
.

.
But now?
.

.
The part I thought would be easy is turning out to be anything but.
.

.
We need a solid fabric for the couches and nothing is working.
.

.
Neither of us wants that much blue so we’re leaning towards neutrals.
.

.
There’s not much color in the pattern and it’s been difficult choosing a coordinating shade.
.

.
Too light.
Too dark.
Too turd like.
The new floor will look like this…
.

.
So I have to consider that as well.
.

.
Too light for the white walls.
.

.
Too cool a shade for the floor and warm trim.
The search continues….
.
Well if beige, blue and grey is in every color palate you are given, it’s going to be tough.

Wow… I don’t think I’ve put that much thought into any aspect of my life!

I never dreamed it would be this difficult.

I guess I had it easy cause I wasn’t looking when I found my sofas.

It may be time throw up your hands, close your eyes, and pick at random!

It’s tempting, but no.

I’m glad my only preferences are for bright colors and anything that makes me smile. (OK and no patterns…)

I have seen no bright colored fabric. None.

I have a dark grey leather loveseat – with orange throw pillows…actually I have the same pillow covers in silver for when I had a wicker loveseat with orange seat covers – orange and grey are obviously a thing for me. I’m just a crazy hippy-dippy when it comes to decor – you obviously have more class than I do – LOL

I don’t know about that…
But at this point I’d settle for less class and something that blends.

Geez Louise, it might be easier to change your house to match the furniture rather than the other way around.

I’m beginning to think so, yes.

I’ll need it. Thanks…

Why not buy a couch, etc. then paint the room to match. It would be easier.

You could try art on the wall to tie it in? Or maybe a lampshade scattering the light, but that doesn’t help at night. Maybe upholsterer specialist has magic key to unlock the dilemma?

I mean lampshade won’t help during day!

My father was an artist and his paintings hang on our walls. That’s non negotiable…

I am rooting for you from afar, knowing the angst that comes from attempting to buy furniture. It seems like it should be fun, but never is.

The dining room was easy. This is definitely not… fun or easy.

If you get beige, white or gray; you could always charge the look with blankets and throw covers.

Yes, but I’m not a big blanket person… and the thought of paying so much for something just to cover it sticks in my craw.
