.
I lost track of the husband the other day and found him outside, in the process of moving stone.
.

.
This is the stone veneer he had the delivery driver drop at the far end of our property instead of closer to the front porch of the house as it should have been.
.

.
I suggested loading it in the truck and driving it over to the garage in sections to save time (not to mention his back) but as usual, he wanted to do it the hard way and moved it piece by heavy *ss piece to the barn porch so it would be off his lawn.
.

.
While he hauled stone?
I picked up the styrofoam, cardboard and straps it was packaged in.
.

.
And there was a lot of that.
.

.
55 sections of stone, roughly 20 pounds each. Back and forth across the lawn… for hours, in the afternoon sun.
.

.
Did I mention my husband is 77 years old?
.

.
I swear the man is a marvel.
He never quits.
.

.
Now I just have to hope the barn porch doesn’t collapse from the weight before he can move it over to the house…
🥴
.
Oh my. I would have thought the truck be best too. But he is probably thinking why lift same piece twice – to car and then from car to barn. But yes, back of the truck I would have gone for.
I hope your barn porch turns oout to be ok and all the best with the next part of the job.

Thanks.
I have to say I’ll be glad when this one is done…

I bet. I hope it’s not too hot while doing that.

It’s been miserably hot and humid. Supposed to break next week though..

I’m not sure who had it worse: you or your husband. His job was hot and tiring to be sure, but I HATE doing anything with styrofoam. The little bits that break off cling to everything – your hand, the product… everything but the garbage bag you’re trying to put it in!

And when you’re outside all those tiny pieces get lost in the grass. Picking them up was really fun … not.

Amazing. Him, your patience, the stone, the styrofoam, the way everything turns into more of a project than you can imagine when you first start it.

Nothing is ever simple here. You’d think we’d know better by now…

Wow. That is impressively stubborn?

For sure.

I believe I would have to take up home crafts or something if I lived with your husband to keep up my ego. He is so on the go!

I’m a good bit younger and try to pull my weight around the house… but he puts me to shame.

Oh, I know my husband is a whiz at YouTube improvisation for fixing cars, carpentry, and sometimes cooking! I just try to enjoy it!

I know 77 year olds who pay thousands to go to the gym and lift weights!

We paid thousands, but it wasn’t to the gym.

He is a marvel. And stubborn. HA!
Doesn’t he know the phrase Work Smarter, Not Harder? 😜 My back is aching thinking of him going back and forth.

If there’s a harder, more time consuming way to do things? My guy will find it..

Impressive feat for a man his age, to be sure, but I thought I was stubborn. I’ve got nothing on him!

He really is the most stubborn man I know. Sometimes it’s admirable, others it’s just plain crazy…
