Being that I’m the annoying person on road trips who always announces cow! when one is passed, you know I thoroughly enjoyed the bovine section of the fair.
Cows of every size, shape and color were on display and I was a happy camper.
This is Fred.
.

.
We petted Fred and Fred didn’t mind.
.

.
This prize winner was sectioned off with multiple warnings not to touch. And as hard as that was… his coat was delightful!…even my has to touch everything husband obeyed.
.

.
There were stocky legged cows…
( I feel you buddy, I really do)
.

.
And Oreo cows…
.

.
And tufted ears cows.
Isn’t that the sweetest!
.

.
I did feel sorry for this particular cow.
Poor thing had the worst name ever.
.

.
This next lady also had a do not touch sign.
.

.
And with those horns it was easy to comply.
.

.
Want to feel small?
Spend some time in the ox barn.
.

.
Room with a view.

Cow!

Cows are tricky. They LOOK docile; but, with a wave of their heads they can knock a person over a fence. It’s an important type of assault because it helps us feel less bad about eating them…
Oh, and my grandfather named one of his steers, “T-Bone”…

I often wish I could knock people over a fence with my head. It must be a handy talent to have…

I’m also the person in the car that shouts COW! Someone has to, don’t they? Meatloaf is an awful name for a cow.

Someone has to, it might as well be us.

Do not touch!?!? Unless they’re service animal cows, that’s just wrong! If I had a cow, I’d be the one to give it a name like Meatloaf or Hamburger or Pot Roast….

And that one was begging to be touched!

Those are great looking cows! I love the shaggy highland cattle especially. We met an adorable one named Sunshine at the Sandwich Fair once. Also an angry one coming back from the ring, and when the handler shouted “Move!” folks actually complied.

Aww, you know how much I love cows!! Even though I do see them at work everyday and drive by five dairy farms on my way to work and the Bowen cattle ranch near my house (also on my way to work.) I never get tired of these beautiful bovine! COWS!!

How fun to go to the fair! I grew up in “the sticks” and everyone had cows. We also had a great fair.

Maine has a lot of them. Pretty much one a week starting the last week in August until the middle of October. It’s great!

If I had a cow, I’d name him Big Mac. At least that’s a little more subtle.
