The antique transportation museum is always a favorite at the Fryeburg Fair.
.

.
They have some truly amazing, well restored vehicles.

Beautiful, but I can’t imagine traveling across country in one.

Even back then they knew discussing politics and religion was a sure way to ruin a journey.

Sharing your bottle on the other hand, is a sure way to make instant friends.

My husband always has wagon envy when walking around this building.

.
Or maybe he just wanted a beer.

I loved this little Swedish ice sleigh. Wife on the seat in front, husband in back.

A hearse, complete with laying out table.

I hustled my spouse right past this sign before he could read it.

I like the rule about not cocking your gun inside the carriage so as to not make nervous people more nervous. Very considerate.

I love seeing the passenger advice! Before reading the note about blankets, I never thought about traveling at night and in horrific weather. It must have sucked SO much, esp for women in a billion layers of clothing.

I can’t even imagine traveling long distances in those things. First class comfort it’s not.

Wow, the Coach Museum outside of Lisbon’s got nothin’ on this place. Love those signs, especially the edict to avoid snoring loudly. Think how much happier the world would be if men could control the volume of their snores.

Blimey, it would appear that I’m ‘lost to all human feeling’… often.

That hearse is gorgeous. Is that morbid? I don’t care. I like all the decor and frill. 😀

That one struck me too, maybe because you could tell what it was for.
