What we might take… Part one.

.

If we get picked to go to the Antique Roadshow taping in Maine this summer, I want to bring something unusual.

Something you haven’t seen a hundred times before.

This might fit the bill…

.

.

My father was of Scottish ancestry, but born and raised in England. This framed print was passed down through his family and though it doesn’t currently hang in our home…. it is interesting.

.

.

Mine is clearly hand colored.

.

.

And the only other one I could find on line is in the National Portrait Gallery.

.

.

A distinct Roadshow possibility…

👍

      1. No, he was over 40 the first time he saw Ali box as an amateur at age 17. A bit past his prime, as well as wrong weight class – dad boxed at 135, Ali at that time at 178. I know, you didn’t really want to know that. When I was given the gloves I was told they were the pair he wore for one of his NCAA championships. Nothing in writing, only my dead mom’s word to go by, and probably not worth anything outside of the family anyway.

      2. Lightweight is my favorite class. So many great boxers there…
My husband had an uncle who ranked 4th in the world as a featherweight in the 40’s, but WWII interfered. How far back is that? He fought Willie Pep.
        😉
