.
And finally our vacation was over.
Day 8 dawned bright, and as I looked out the window of our condo… windy. No surprise there.
.

.
We said goodbye to Narragansett Bay.
.

.
And a decent enough resort.
.

.
Heading out of Newport, we saw a T Rex selling Girl Scout cookies and had to stop.
.

.
These young ladies were doing a brisk business and we purchased 4 boxes in a drive through line. Very efficient.
.

.
Did I mention there are windmills in Newport?
.

.
Like, everywhere?
With the constant wind I can’t blame them. but it was odd seeing them randomly dominate the skyline.
.

.
In Providence this fellow didn’t seem pleased with the time.
.

.
In Massachusetts?
A very well marked curve.
.

.
Clearly the clientele of this McDonalds outside of Boston are somewhat… questionable.
.

.
Twin bridges somewhere along the way.
And in a mere 4 hours we were home, having greatly enjoyed our time away.
My husband’s birthday fell during our trip and while my surprise Antique Roadshow thing didn’t work out.. ( the rat bastards )…he still had a nice day.
.

.
I thought this guy looked a little like His Lordship.
.

.
Gift #2? A pair of night vision binoculars for critter spotting in the dark.
.

.
Gift #3? A package of stickers that made him groan.
.

.
Gift #4? A lighted coin microscope for closer examination of his collection … which he broke on day one.
🥴
.
That picture of the guy pushing the clock off the roof is genius!

It was eye catching. Even rolling by at 90 mph…

It sounds like a great trip you all had. Glad the hubs bday was celebrated with antique mall hopping, lol. The gifts are also top notch, well except for the Manchurian Cantelope stickers….lol.

I had to.
Just to see his disgusted face..

Maybe those wind mills are part of a goose mitigation program? Seems a bit messy to me, but if it works, it works…

We have drive-thru Girl Scout cookies, too. I thought it was clever of them to set up near soccer fields. But the Girl Scouts who set up next to the cannabis dispensary raised more money.

Oh, those canny little scouts.

How, in SoCal, have I never seen GS cookie sales set as a drive-up, and/or at dispensaries?!? Boggles my mind!

Well, the Girl Scouts in PV are particularly enterprising, which is where I saw the drive-thru first (PV drive and Miraleste, I think). I think the dispensaries are the ones in Westwood, maybe?

Maybe the LB girlscouts are afraid of getting robbed. Or maybe I just didn’t get out & about during cookie sales season. That’s probably it because I now realize I never saw cookie sales happening anywhere.

Well, I saw far fewer Girl Scouts out this year. I didn’t have ANY come to our house for the first time ever. I think it’s because they’ve switched to online sales.

Yep, plus parents who work in offices. I haven’t had a door-to-door girl scout in at least 30 years.

The dinosaur costume to sell cookies was AWESOME.
And I love those Trump stickers—you should totally take them to the grocery store and have some fun with them!

I’ve never bought cookies from a T Rex before. Clever marketing..

I like the idea of night vision binoculars. We have lots of critters out here.

How did hubby break the scope in a day? Was it fixable?

He’s a man, and never reads directions. He pulled when he should have pushed.

Great job with the gift giving!
We missed out on Girl Scout cookies this year and I’m still bummed about that. I procrastinated way too long, and by the time I was ready to pick up a few boxes, they were already gone.
McBJ anyone?

There must be a special menu for that…

Secret menu, I’m sure!

What the hell are people soliciting in the Mickey D’s? Sex? Drugs? Amway?
Oh, the binoculars look like a great gift. I was actually a little excited seeing the coin magnifier thing, (I have so many coins, from relatives who have passed) but seeing that it already broke is not a good sign.

The neighborhood was pretty sketchy, so I’m afraid I have to go with sex.
And it was a shame about the coin microscope. It had great magnification but was very cheaply made.
