Maps no one needs.

.

You don’t need them, but they’re fun.

I can’t argue with ours.

L. L. Bean is life in Maine.

This is disturbing, but sadly…. not surprising.

Weirdest map topic, ever.

Patrick Dempsey is from Lewiston and comes back often. Every September he hosts and runs in the Dempsey Challenge, a charitable event where 100% of the funds raised provide personalized, holistic services at no cost to cancer patients, their loved ones, and care partners. 18 million dollars have been raised to date.

Apologies to women of the Southwest.

  1. Just because Beyonce was born in Texas doesn’t make her the most famous person here. I don’t even like her music, or her for that matter. Id’ take Patrick Dempsey over Beyonce any day, lol. And yes, BEACHBOY’S, where is your love for the gal’s from the Southwest, huh? Oh that’s right we don’t need a label, because we’re bitchin!

  2. Ok. Famous brands? Yeah, Florida has its priorities in the right place. 🙂 Most famous person here? Pitbull? Oh please. He is not even the most famous person on his block. As for maternity leave, I agree (with an asterisk). The father of the child should also get equal time off. I know this is going to get backlash, but marginalizing the workload of a new father shows a lack of equality.

  3. The brands mostly make sense, even if I haven’t heard of many from the midwest. But the celebrities? Kim Kardashian from California?! Surely we have someone with actual talent who is equally famous? Also, Taylor Swift should be on there somewhere. She and Beyonce are probably the most famous/ well-known celebrities, right?

  4. I grew up in Nevada and I have no idea what Zappos is. We treat mother’s and newborn babies with the same respect as New Guinea – is that right? Totally believable for a country anxious to make more women pregnant while cutting funds to end childhood hunger!

  5. Well, That was interesting since I had to look up Zappos. I am originally from CA so I will go bybwhat the Beach Boys think of women there, and as for Celebrities?..I don’t even know who the guy is for Nevada.

    1. According to Maine –

“By percentage, Maine has more of its privately held agricultural land under foreign control (21.1 percent) than any other state, according to the report.

The vast majority of that land is timberland owned by Canadians or Canada-based businesses.

Per the report, Canadian investors own 2.9 million acres in Maine, while investors from the Netherlands own 187,294 acres, U.K. investors own 717 acres, German investors own 22,605 acres, and investors from “all others” own 314,982 acres.”

Though I did read the Chinese have bought property to grow marijuana now that it’s legal here
