These crazy maps make you happy, admit it.
.

.
For those of you unfamiliar with Maine’s, let me explain.
“Lobster tomalley, often referred to as the “green stuff” inside a lobster, is the hepatopancreas, a digestive gland that functions as both the liver and pancreas. It is a delicacy for some, valued for its rich, intense flavor similar to lobster meat but more intense. However, it’s also been a subject of safety concerns due to potential environmental contaminants.”
.
The green stuff is a highly debated topic in my state. Some people hate it (me!) and others love it.
.

.
Everything toxic a lobster encounters in the sea lands there. Not my idea of a culinary treat.
🤢

.
Booger Hole, West Virginia?
Say it isn’t so…
.

.
Another reason I’m glad my part of Maine is blue.
😉
.

.
Wow, Maine’s Bangor seems relatively tame.
.

.
What up Wisconsin?
🤣
.

.
So many unhappy states.
.

.
Weird law?
Leave it to Vermont…
.
Thank goodness I don’t like seafood anyway! 🤮
(My sister lives in Bangor, Northern Ireland.)
Some if these names are mental … Funny though. 😂

There’s a Bangor in Northern Ireland?
Didn’t know that…

Yeah – about 15 minutes on the train, east if Belfast. Lovely seaside town. 😀

There is nothing weird about pasty! And Hell, MI didn’t make the city list?
As for spelling, maybe folks are using the Marquette spelling “Meskousing” or the Joliet spelling “Miskonsing”, LaSalle spelling “Ouisconsin”, or Thevenout spelling “Mescousin”, all of which might have come from Ojibwe or Miami. I blame the French explorers.
We were happier before 2011.
If you whistle underwater and no one hears, is it still illegal? What if a tree falls on you while you’re whistling?

Good questions, all.
Sadly I have no answers..

I know in east Texas rattlesnake is considered a delicacy, 🤮. But not where I live, we are more beef lovers than anything. I didn’t realize New Mexico was so unhappy, they gave legalized marijuana, you’d think they’d be more happy and chill, lol. As for the…gaggy green yuck from the lobster, no thank you.

I grew up in Washington, raised my family in CA and now am in AZ. I never had geoduck, sushirrito or scorpion lollipops.

It seems you’ve led a sheltered life.

We used to dig for geoducks but they are too gross looking to eat!

Well. Now I need to find a Cotton Candy Burrito near me. That sounds delicious and unbelievable.

I think I’d have to pass on that one.

Literally just came to the comments to await Mark’s explanation. But also chucked over Washington and “pneumonia.”

If we’re talking street names, near Lake Placid I came across a street called Ididitmi Way.

I love old weird laws!
I think I should move to Big Bottom, WA!
I know sushirritos are a thing, but I think the chicken sandwiches that use donuts as buns, and most other fair foods, are weirder!!
Rando info: A “California burrito” is a regular burrito with fries added inside.

Can fair food really even be called food…?

I see nothing weird about a butter burger. And Washington (geoduck) is spot-on, but…gooseneck barnacles in Oregon? WTF?! In 20+ years I never once saw those on a menu anywhere.
