Beautiful. Some of mine are still surrounded by weeds after three weeks away. Speaking of that, the sky is starting to lighten up. Better get out there and pull some weeds so my garden can look as glorious as yours!

The weeds and I have been battling hard this year. So much early rain … they practically took over.

Ha!! I love Masercot’s idea, I’m going to make up flower names as well. I have a couple of dark red Slit My Wrist Susan’s, Black Wing Betty’s and Dexter Slash Daisies!
Which I don’t of course because, I have a brown thumb and kill everything I plant apparently. Except for roses, I have three rose bushes and they seem to be coming along nicely. I also have a yellow bell and a bird of paradise that I thought was dead and cut all the way down. Then the rain began and low and behold, it’s coming back again.

My father was a rose grower extraordinaire. He even had his own hybrids… but me? I’ve never had much luck with them.
A bird of paradise? I’m jealous.

When is your blooming season? I am guessing 3 July until about 15 July before the first frost?

It’s said you shouldn’t plant annuals until Memorial Day as frost is possible in May. It’s possible again in late October. But to be honest the summers are longer and much hotter than they used to be so the growing season has stretched.

I’m getting more into astilbe now that our trees are bigger and providing more shade. Your bee balm is a beautiful color, different from our bright red ones.

Our milkweed is in bloom and it’s doing its job – I saw a Monarch drinking nectar yesterday.
