What I’m watching.

.

Since we visited many of the Bellevue Avenue “cottages” in Newport, Rhode Island where this series is filmed?

.

.

Watching season three has been a lot more fun.

.

.

Quirky, admittedly kind of silly, but still entertaining… this show about a robot gone rogue stuck on a planet with futuristic hippies is weird, but watchable.

.

.

Brought to you by the creators of Ted Lasso.. which I adored, this tale of a washed up pro golfer seeking redemption is heartwarming and funny with a great soundtrack. Personally I think Ted Lasso was ten times better… but it’s still worth a look.

.

.

Yes, this is my guilty pleasure. I watched Sex and the City back in the day and like a train wreck… I can’t turn away from its sequel, even though I admit it pales in comparison. The girls are older and the raunch factor has been dialed back considerably but the fashion’s still wild and the ride is still fun.

.

.

I loved dinosaurs when I was a kid… and what can I say?

I love them still.

This BBC series brings them to life with computer animation and yes, I’m all in.

  1. I think I’ll give Stick and Walking with Dinosaurs a look. I recently found out that Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale is coming to theaters in September, so I just started rewatching the whole series. It’s as good as the first time!

  2. I have questions! 🙂

Did you read the MurderBot books? Very enjoyable, and they make the tv show even more so as just a slice of the big picture. And Skarsgard is my new hunky crush.

Does Stick have Marc Maron in it? If so, I thought that was going to be a movie! I really like him – Is he his usual abrasive grouchy self here?

      1. The books are worth it! When they first each came out people rushed to grab them – quite the cult sensation. I think the books and the show make a successful package together: complex and cute.

Yay grouchy sidekick! I don’t have AppleTV but now I’ll have to figure out how to see this. Thanks for the review.

      2. Their show Severance just garnered 27 Emmy nominations. Shrinking is one of the best written shows I’ve ever seen.
They may be losing money, but their programming is top shelf and I’ll ride the channel until it dies. Then I’ll weep.

      3. No, the platform is losing serious money, a billion a year due to the high quality programming. But Apple sees it as a long term investment and will swallow the loss to build a following.
        Subscribe. You won’t regret it.

      4. We haven’t watched enough tv while on the road to merit streaming subscriptions, but this winter we’ll be bored to pieces! Thanks for the recommendation.

  3. I haven’t seen any of these shows. I watch about one hour of TV a day and am currently watching Elementary which I never saw when it aired. Severance may be next on my list— or a cozy mystery of some sort.

    1. I LOVED Elementary! I was on a Sherlock Holms kick for a while and binge watched Elementary, the BBC series Sherlock, both Sherlock Holmes movies. Now I’m watching Watson on Paramount, which is slow to start but, I’ve gotten into it.

  4. The Dinosaur’s look pretty cool to me too!

I’m watching Gilded Age, but for some reason, can only do one episode at a time, so it’s taking me a while to get through it.

  5. Since I’ve watched Downton Abbey, you’d think I’d be into The Gilded Age. But, sadly I wasn’t able to get into that series. Something just blah to me about it, lol. Probably that Miranda from SATC is in it and I can’t stand her as an actress or her character in SATC. The spin off series And Just Like That is tired and old, they are rehashing old scripts for this one. At least that’s how it seemed to me after only four episodes in of the first season. Carrie Bradshaw is the most selfish character every written, she’s shallow, demanding and extremely narcissistic in my opinion. And now having an older version of her doing the same things she did in her 20’s and 30’s? No thank you, I’ll stick to watching reruns of the Golden Girls…lol.

  6. I loooooove MurderBot!!
    I just started Stick.
Couldn’t get through more than 15min of Just Like That.
Caught part of an ep of Guilded Age and thought I might check it out later.
I keep meaning to watch Walking With Dinos, cause I saw the tourng show of the same name.
