Mind blown, I admit it.

.

Remember when I posted this the other day?

.

When I said it was crazy to see circles in this collection of what is clearly blocks?

Well, thanks to two blog friends..

I saw them.

I didn’t at first, even after one friend said to look in between the rectangles.

Nope. Didn’t see them.

Then another friend emailed me this color enhanced version.

.

.

Yup.

Clearly a circle.

So I went back numerous times and focused on the space in between two rectangles and I stared.

Then I squinted…

.

.

And bam!

There really are circles. Call it an optical illusion or my brain playing tricks, because as soon as I stopped squinting they disappeared.

But I saw them.

And after a few more tries, I saw them without squinting.

Try it…

And Mark, I expect you to be honest.

Watermelon really is delightful.

  1. Wow – thx for sharing! After the color enhanced version, I easily see the circles. But it’s still rectangles.

Reminds me of the Mind’s Eye 3D posters. I used to go wall-eyed to see the images (vs most people going cross-eyed), which meant they 3D-ed in the opposite direction (I think they popped out, forward, for most people but backward for me – not sure now).

  2. I was about to dash off a quick – “Nope” then I Idly glanced up at the black and white image and there the circles were clear as day, no squinting, not even paying attention – the color enhanced version is more difficult for me. Once I identified the circles in the b/w version then, with much concentration I could finally see the circles in the color enhanced version.
