There’s a restaurant on Route 1 called The Taste of Maine. It’s large, family owned for 47 years, on the water and a tourist favorite.
.

.
It also has a giant lobster on its roof which is hard to miss.
.

.
With all the bad news swirling around us these days, let me drop this feel good piece right here.
.

.
Proof there are still good people out there.

I can see why that 700 pound lobster is retired for the winter! I’ve only been to Maine a couple of times – both times along the coast with my grandparents. My grandpa had strong roots in Maine. I only remember the rocky coast.

We have plenty of that!

I love that lobster on the roof! Is the lobster good at that restaurant even if it’s so touristy? Also, nice about the haircuts.

We’ve had good and bad meals there. If you stick to the simple dishes it’s fine, but I had a seafood newburg once that was virtually inedible.

I wondered. When it’s touristy, you never know. Some are great like where we are there’s a seafood place that’s always packed at the marina is always good!

It’s not on our favorites list but when we have guests from out of state it’s almost required. They serve the world’s longest lobster roll.

That’s good news, especially the haircuts.

That’s nice. Haircuts have gotten extortionate.

Aww that is a nice ray of sunshine right there!! Haircuts are expensive and so glad those students got to have one before they returned to school. So Larry the Lobster gets taken down for the Fall/Winter? Makes sense, I’m sure the winters a bit more brutal over there than down here.

Yeah, he’d never survive a snow storm…. though a snow covered lobster would be an interesting sight.

I’m surprised they don’t keep that thing out year-round considering he weighs 700 lbs. What a hassle moving him back and forth!

It’s inflatable and would never survive a winter. But even without air it weighs a ton…

I recall seeing that Giant Lobster before. I wonder where they store him in the off season.
Nothing better than a fresh haircut on the first day of school!

$65! God, that’s 6500 rs. I. India, people get hair cut for 50-100 rs

Wow!
That doesn’t happen here…

I know cost of living is quite low and some services are pretty reasonable, 6500 rs can get you a professional hair colour, hair styling, facial, padicure, manicure and probably keratin treatment as well
