.
I grew up in New Jersey and had many Italian friends. These Italian friends had Italian mothers who cooked. Boy howdy, did they ever. So when I saw this list the other day I knew I would do pretty well…
.

.
Though I do have a tendency to make my bruschetta a soft middle consonant instead of hard.
.

.
It’s bush hogging season in the country and when the man comes to do our neighbor’s field …
.

.
We have him do our back half acre to the woods as well.
.

.
Our backyard leaves have turned, but like the rest of the state not vibrantly.
Are you thinking about moving? Maybe into a slightly larger home?
If so, I’ve got your back.
.

.
And if the high cost seems out of reach, just know it’s the house where Dark Shadows was filmed years ago. Walking the halls with Barnabas Collins? You can’t put a price on that.
.

.
Am I the only one who does this? You’re driving down the road when you hear a song you want to add to your iPod so you take a picture of the radio for future reference?
.

.
Considering no one uses iPods anymore, I’m going to guess yes.
I’m the only dinosaur who does this.
.

.
I’ve long considered myself a tree hugging liberal without ever giving much thought to actually hugging a tree.
Until I read this..
.

.
Who knew?
😉
.
Our trees are pretty little, but I’ll give ’em a grab.

It can’t hurt.
And the trees might like it.

I am cracking up over the tree photos. Which is not to say I disagree with how wonderful trees are, or that I disbelieve in their energy and beneficial properties!
That “house” has to be nearly the size of RI!
I think your trees look fabulous.

I do love trees. Perhaps it’s time to let them love me back…

Kai-oh-tee, Kai-oat… I get it.
I take pics of my radio display for good, new to me, songs or good comedy sets (when I have/has Sirius)

I’m no where near being Italian, but I can honestly say, I can and have been pronouncing those words correctly. So when you say that’s the house they filmed Dark Shadow, are talking the series or the film, or both. The series was a bit before my time, but I watched it in syndication every Friday night at 11:30 as a kid, I was fascinated by it being a dark soap opera, loved it. But, no thank you, that house has too many House on Haunted Hill vibes jus by the pictures.

Yes, it’s from the old original series I wasn’t allowed to…. but did… watch as child.

I was pleased to see that it’s only the one g that trips up my Italian–I hit it in tagliatelle. For someone who grew up on only spaghetti (in TV dinners), I’m absurdly proud of myself. I should have done the tree thing when I was in New England with all the trees. I wonder if it works with an orange tree.

I don’t see why not.
Hug that orange!

Some of my Italian friends kind of disappeared but I did love their food! The mystery is what connections they had? As always. Beautiful foliage.

After reading that, I want a tree as a pet.
Think I’ll go to a national park and get me one. Now where did I leave my chainsaw…

Our Italian neighborhood was settled mostly by Sicilians, so I identified Italian food with southern Italian/Sicilian food for ages. There was a northern Italian restaurant in San Francisco where I had one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten.
Along with mispronunciations, they could have added misunderstanding singular vs plural. “Panini” is the plural of “panino”, so you can’t order “paninis” with your friends. Nor can you order one “panini”.

And yet I’ve never heard anyone order a panino.

still nothing beats my Dad proudly ordering his favorite soup at every Italian restaurant ever.
“Waiter, can I start off with a bowl of pasta fag eee oh lee ?”
🤣🤣🤣🤣

Why did you have to do that? 😉 Now I’m remembering my father in an Italian restaurant (in the early days of his Alzheimer’s Disease) and using an ethnic slur to order wine.

I do the same thing with songs when I’m in the car!
And I knew this about trees, yet, I still don’t touch them enough. This is my reminder to do that. I will say, I do lots of tree gazing. 🍂💜

Last time I leaned against a tree it was full of Ants. I think I will keep a distance from our city trees

I got a 100 on the Italian quiz, mostly because of the tons of assorted Italian dishes I have ordered and the helpful waiters and (Mostly) waitresses who helped me over the decades to get it right.

Now see, if that list were generated in the States, the FDC would require them to include the calorie count and the carb count, ruining the experience.

One should never count calories or carbs when eating Italian.

I wasn’t interested in the pricey house until I heard it had “Dark Shadows.” Then, I got interested. Unfortunately, I still didn’t have any way to finance that purchase. I think I only mispronounce about 1/3 of that list. Grew up with a lot of Italian neighbors. I thank them for that.

I wish I had seen this barefoot tree thing earlier in the year. It’s a little harder to get behind this movement now that the temperatures have dropped.

I often take pics of my radio screen to remember a song I’ve not heard in a while, or to send to someone who has a memory (with me) tied to a song. No working ipods around these parts.
My Maternal Grandma was born and raised in Italy; my mom used all those kitchen phrases, even when she was an older Georgia Peach with a southern twang.
