Have you seen the new AI tool on Facebook that turns your photos into cartoons? Knowing my distaste for all intelligence that’s artificial … you can guess how thrilled I was at my results.
First up?
A woodchuck.

Next I tried Lord Dudley Mountcatten. I figured that wouldn’t be difficult.
He only has two colors.

Tired of animals, I tried people.

Well, they nailed the cleavage… but my cartoon GI Joe-like husband looks as if he wants to strangle me.

I could live with this version of myself. At least her face is thinner.

But how did they manage to turn my big smile into a scowl here?
Not overly impressed, I tried one more photo.
And had my biggest laugh.
Not only did they turn me from a brunette into a blonde…

Those are AWFUL!!!! Geesh!!! I haven’t tried very much yet. I had one picture animated and loved it, but somehow I lost it and can’t find it saved anywhere.

I haven’t seen that feature, but those are really bad. I guess they learned everything they needed to know about cartoons from Mary Worth (and yes, I realize I just insulted the creators of Mary Worth – I’m sorry).

I haven’t played with AI images yet, but these are just plain bad!! That said, my better half is in med school and regularly uses AI to create visuals to help remember things, and it’s my understanding you need to be super details in the prompts… though with feeding an image in, you’d think it’d be simple enough. 🤔

I’ve been playing with AI images – creating them from a prompt – for a few years now and AI has gotten better about fingers and arms and such – FB’s Ai tool is new therefore it hasn’t learned much yet – even Apple’s image playground is better than that, I just thought – even photo editing apps from years ago, without AI converted photos better than that. Meta just sucks…
