.
A few back yard photos from our recently blooming Japanese Iris.
.

.
They’re smaller and more densely packed than the giant bearded variety.
.

.
And to be honest a lot easier to deal with.
.

.
A lovely annual burst of purple.
.

.
And then there’s this showy shrub that blooms at the same time.
.

.
The Weigela.
.

.
A deep red beauty.
.
That purple 🤩

So very lovely! Irises are one of my favorite flowers.

These were here and already established when we moved in. But I’ve separated a few and started them in other beds too.

Wow! Makes my flowers look drab in comparison.

I had lots of blooming shrubs about ten years ago, but the larger trees are crowding them out. Love the weigela.

I just wish they bloomed longer.

Yes me too. I had at least four different ones and I don’t think any of them are still in the borders.

I really hate that we can’t put pics in comments. I really miss that here.

Our Weigels are out of control. God, I hate when that happens.
