I thought I had two from Op Sail ‘76 currently hanging, but it’s just this one on rotation now. I believe that’s the Russian ship in the foreground and the Portuguese in the rear.

Amazing! Thanks for posting! He had SO much talent. Did he ever go to art school? Or was this strictly just a hobby? Looks like the Chateau was maybe in oils. The tall ships are fantastic. I also really like Port Clyde. So serene. Reminds me of Winslow Homer’s work. It’s wild that he was an investment banker by trade.

Port Clyde is one of my favorites and hangs in our bedroom.

I would be proud to have any of those pieces hanging on my wall! If I had to guess, I’d say your dad had an eye for detail but knew when to suggest rather than perfect. A gift too many amateur artists (me) don’t have!

Who are you leaving these pieces to in your will? I know you have no kids. Do you have other direct family members to bequeath them to? I certainly hope so.

He mastered that hobby, to be sure. Beautiful images, and images it sounds like you already have a plan for to pass at least some of them on to when the time is appropriate. They should remain “active” and cherished.
