Fall leaves.
Beautiful in their own right….
But as a background for deer pictures?
Pretty darned impressive.
Notice the closer they get to the house, the greener the grass gets?
Proof positive the old saying is true.
The grass really is always greener over the septic tank….
Every time I see Maine’s foliage, I think about Hitchcock’s movie, The Trouble with Harry. If you see it, you’ll know exactly why…

That must be the only Hitchcock I haven’t seen. Now I’m intrigued…

It’s funny. About a corpse, mostly. Edmund Gwenn is in it, the guy who played Santa Claus in Miracle on 34th Street…

I’ll keep an eye out. Gotta love a corpse leading man…

Wowsa! No colors like those around here on the trees. Not even during our prettiest years. Great photos.

They are so pretty, and against that background, amazing.

Of course, a river rat might look equally pretty against that….

I love fall photos, even without the deer. Yours are awesome (the foliage and the deer).

… fall colors are a major drawback of living heah in God’s country. The summer drought comes, everything turns brown until spring. But the deer still browse on my crepe myrtles … thinking of turning some of them into venison

I miss crepe myrtles… but not that hot dry brown dust that passes for grass down south.

The grass is greener because the deer fertilize it!

And the skunks, and the foxes, and the woodchucks.. it’s a veritable factory.

Stunning scene! Makes me miss all the types of maples and other deciduous trees in my hometown of Seattle, turning those vibrant colors in fall. Oh well, at least I don’t have to rake and remove leaves…!

That’s the best part…. we have open fields, a vegetable farm and a horse farm as neighbors. The wind takes care of them all.

We were early this year due to a few cold mornings and a dry September. Shame really… I love a long Indian summer.

So you took a shot of the deer before the deer gets shot… the irony!
