People can be so hateful.

I know tax time can be a stressful time of year, even now when the deadline has been rolled back.

And I know some people are still anxiously awaiting their stimulus checks.

But please, can we all just take a breath and have a little common decency?

The following is a recent FB post from the mother of a friend of mine. She’s a widow in her 70’s who works for H&R Block at tax time to supplement her fixed income.

The fact that she even has to say this saddens me.

So please, calm down.

We’re all in this together.

Even the tax accountants.

  1. I used to work in customer service. I answered phones at a company that served the trucking industry. I know what it’s like to be on the receiving end of some pretty harsh words, even from people I was doing my absolute best to help.
Sometimes I think we should all take a turn answering phones. The awareness that there’s an actual person on the other end of the line, I hope, would help.

      1. I actually did my taxes at a tax prepare place this year, and while I am expecting a refund – I was told not to expect anything for at least 4-6 weeks.
Then all sh*t hit the fan – no telling when I will get my refund.
Still not my tax preparers fault, and no reason to confront them about it.

    1. I don’t get mad at people over the phone.
It’s not worth my time if I have to clean the spital off my phone.
      Yes… seriously

Also serious – why get mad at people over the phone or otherwise?
They are not in charge and have no real control over much of any business transaction.

  2. That’s rotten. I also work in a place where stupid people call up like, “When I’mma get my money?”
I dunno, lemme check my crystal ball.
It’s only stupid people who think the tax preppers can get their stimulus money. Shame on the stupid people.
