Covet.

‘To want to have something very much.’
That’s what I thought.
So the answer to my title question is no.
I didn’t covet.
But my town apparently thinks I did.

Who knew a much coveted annual Victorian Tea fundraiser had been cancelled?
Not me.
Heck, I didn’t even know any one was coveting Victorian tea to begin with.
I have coveted a few things in life. Not enough to actually go and steal them, mind you. I dislike jail far more than I like forbidden treasures.
But coveting a Victorian tea raiser seems a bit difficult to do. I don’t even think most could even get as far as envy on this one.

Me neither.
The most I could work up was a blog post.

Little do they know that you would indeed COVET if they spiked their tea with a sufficient amount of adult beverage. 😉

Yes. They could assure my attendance with the proper libation.

It is an English word–not an American word, let alone a Maine word, and WE all know the English talk and are funny–let them go on coveting!!!

I’m sure I’ve coveted my fair share of things over the years …. but not this.

I seriously coveted the beers my son and DIL were drinking this weekend but besides a few sniffs I stayed strong!

In your situation, that kind of coveting is perfectly understandable.
