Fall foliage and deer in the backyard.

It’s a view I never get tired of.

This is our dark doe. She’s a big girl, and I swear if you put a rack on her she’d easily be a healthy buck.

The difference between her and our old doe is striking, and sad.

But to each thing there is a season…

yes….the cycle of life

I love your views and glad to see Momma is still hanging on. I’ve loved watching your trees change with you!

You’d have to put more than a rack on her to make her a buck…
Didn’t you go to health class in high school?

After my ball wash post, I’m trying to avoid that area altogether.

It’s just hard to watch. She’s been with us for years…

We don’t get the autumn / fall colours here in Queensland Oz because the temperatures aren’t extreme. Earth is just the most wonderful place.
As for the elegant old lady, well, I accept she has to go now – they don’t have a long lifespan even without the intervention of the wild. She’s been blessed to have your haven to visit in her twilight time – and your berries.

The trees are gorgeous, as are the does! Sad to watch any animal age and slow. I’m glad she can fill her belly in peace at Chez River.

I’ve broken my own rule about no breakfast or lunch. She gets 3 squares a day now.
