This is our dark doe. She’s a big girl, and I swear if you put a rack on her she’d easily be a healthy buck.

  1. Are they related?
    Mother/daughter . . . Grandmother/granddaughter?

    The cycle of life can create emotional challenges for us. Of course, she may be thinking, “I’m tired. Let me off this merry-go-round.”

  2. We don’t get the autumn / fall colours here in Queensland Oz because the temperatures aren’t extreme. Earth is just the most wonderful place.
    As for the elegant old lady, well, I accept she has to go now – they don’t have a long lifespan even without the intervention of the wild. She’s been blessed to have your haven to visit in her twilight time – and your berries.
