I love me some cannolis…. and at times have gone to great lengths to procure a decent one. So imagine my horror on discovering that one of my favorite desserts is not as innocent as it appears.

It’s official.
I will now never be able to gaze lovingly on this tasty treat without blushing.

Sigh.

So yeah, thanks for that Sicily.

So, I’ve been eating an uncircumcised Italian pastry?

I am of Sicilian descent and only learned of this about a year go, not from the story but from a naughty man who explained things to me (verbally – get your mind out of the gutter). 😛
I’m a little naive… (lol)

I always want a cannoli. Which I may need to re-examine now…

With 3 Italian children, one would THINK one of them would have offered me a Cannoli …but NO…I’ll have to speak to Antonio about that…lol

Should I be worried that my husband LOVES cannolis?? Asking for a friend. 😂

Well…. you may want to show him the article. My husband hates them, so I’m good.

I am SO buying a cannoli the next time I go to our Italian eatery… which may be tomorrow.

Actually, it would be for the husband. I’m going to give it to him and say, “Look familiar?”

So many witty thoughts about your cannoli. Have lived in Southern California for three decades, and had my (desired) share of Italian restaurants, Oh, and not to forget we spent a week in Lucca. Since I don’t like ricotta cheese, I would choose it more often with another kind of cheese:) Who would have thought cannoli brought me to your blog:) Jesh

Well, whatever brought you here….. welcome!
To be honest I’m not a huge fan of ricotta either, but put enough sugar in it and I’d probably eat a brick.
