.
Our neighbor, she of the new stained glass hobby, invited us down to her house to take a look at her work. Not being one to arrive empty handed I brought this….
.

.
A bottle of wine from one of our trips. I planned to ply her with alcohol and drive the price of the eagle I had my eye on down.
.

.
The picture she’d sent me made the piece look quite large… and though in reality it wasn’t, it still turned out to be a nice addition to the man cave.

On the table with my husband’s challenge coin collection.

.
Below the WWII propaganda posters.

.
Proudly guarding our bar. (And yes, I got the 20% friends and family discount.)
.
Just tell her that it doesn’t look like an eagle… more like a mockingbird… but you’ll take it off her hands…

Too late. But I’ll remember that for the next purchase…

What are challenge coins?

“A challenge coin is a small coin or medallion, bearing an organization’s insignia or emblem and carried by the organization’s members. Traditionally, they might be given to prove membership when challenged and to enhance morale. They are also collected by service members and law enforcement personnel. Historically, challenge coins were presented by unit commanders in recognition of special achievement by a member of the unit. They could also be exchanged in recognition of visits to an organization.” That’s the history. Military personnel carry a coin of their unit on them at all times. If you are “challenged” to present your coin and can’t? Traditionally you have to buy the bar a round.

I’m not sure it will ever be finished, there are still a few tweaks left to be tweaked.
