Rock wall repair completed, it was time to tackle the grass-less section of dirt. We’ve been abnormally dry for the past few months and our lush green lawn was anything but. The weeds? They’re doing just fine. 😡
We tried seeding the bald area, but of course the minute we did that… we had a gushing thunderstorm that washed it all into the ditch. Enter some strategically placed sod.

I’ve never sodded anything before so the fact that it came in nicely rolled little burritos tickled my funny bone.

The color doesn’t exactly match….

But it’s close enough for a ditch and will hopefully blend over time.

Trying to keep it moist enough to root will be a bit of a challenge with the drought….

But for $40 it was a quick efficient fix.

I use dishwater. water I rinse veggies in. Ice cubes that no one wants. I don’t throw water away. It always goes out on the plants.

I do some of that for potted plants, but not the lawn. It’s too damned big.

Omg…..I so wish I could send you some rain! I’m so freaking tired of the rain, humidity and weeds!! It’s rained here for the last month and a half three days on two off it’s ridiculous. The mountain near my house is beautifully green and lush. But the weeds in my yard are a pain in my ass and I can’t even cut the grass because THEN IT RAINS!!! Ugh….🤬

We have had large amounts of rain here as well. But I’m not gonna say it’s too much – doing that will surely stop the gift horse from giving.
