Another one bites the dust.

.

His Lordship was on high alert after hearing something in the backyard stone wall.

.

.

Not finding anything, he tried the front lawn stone wall.

.

.

After narrowly missing a chipmunk there….

.

.

He returned to the back lawn stone wall… and waited.

.

.

Patience paid off. He snatched a mouse out of a rock crevice and ran with it to the back door, which was thankfully closed. Rodent death was fairly quick this time around …

.

.

So Dudley got bored with his prize and headed back to the wall. Leaving another fresh carcass for yours truly.

  1. At least the death was mercifully quick, maybe because he was taking out his frustrations at having missed that chipmunk earlier. Although, having put my foot in one too many of their holes, I’d rather see a chipmunk go down.

  2. The voles that Conall killed when we were living in Idaho became food for a raven pair. We were building a relationship, but then I moved. I’m waiting to see if I can create something similar with ravens or crows in VT, but that will require Conall’s cooperation. Maybe that’s what Dudley’s helping you do in ME!
