Do you binge?

.

I love a good binge, be it tacos or television. So when my new iPhone came with 3 months of free Apple TV access? I jumped on board and watched The Morning Show from start to finish….

.

.

And was seriously impressed. Finding quality programming is a wonderful thing so I dove right into another series and was blown away…

.

.

Yes, this quirky little comedy/drama is now my hands down favorite show.

It’s hilarious… I positively snort.

It’s heartwarming… the Christmas episode made my eyes leak.

The writing is top notch, the characters are well developed and it’s filled with snappy snarky dialogue which is always the best kind. Drama, humor, romance, sports… there’s something for everyone.

.

.

Oy! My favorite character is Roy.

Roy Kent! He’s here, he’s there. Here’s every f*cking where. Roy Kent!

Inside reference, never mind.

.

.

This series is entertaining, endearing, wry, uplifting, wacky and totally addicting. I zipped through seasons one and two and was absolutely bereft at the thought of waiting for #3.

If you don’t have Apple TV? Get it. You won’t be sorry.

  1. I don’t have Apples, it’s OK if you do. We’ve been watching Ozark, one episode left, pretty good and there are going to be some serious loose ends to tie up. Should be great.
We’re waiting for the next season of the Boys. HELL YEAH! In the meantime there’s an animated series, Diabolical, with related stories, that is every bit as gritty and violent. Violence and grit; they go together like popcorn and milk duds. The Thing about Pam may well be the best thing Renee’ Zellweger has ever done. Twisted sociopath and loving it.
I’m not much of a TV guy in general, but Cathy is, so I’m more about the company than the viewing. I’m glad there are a few things out there that won’t put me to sleep. I have heard that Ted Lasso is really done. I’ll probably give it a look if it ever emerges from the Apple sphere of dominance.

    1. I don’t aimlessly watch tv like my husband but I do enjoy following good series. Haven’t seen Ozark. Pam sounds intriguing. It annoys me to pay for multiple streaming services along with the Direct TV we need because we live in the boons. Apple is free as is Amazon Prime for me so I stick to those.

      1. Sorry…it shows up in Apple TV but brings you to Netflix…great keep you on the edge of your seat series though

We I called Fios to cancel cable and phone they didn’t even question it because they saw how much we had been streaming the past two years. They canceled all and upgraded our WiFi…saved $230 a month, get better WiFi and cheaper streaming services

      2. I watched the last episode last night and it left me with some mixed feelings. I thought some of the resolutions were drawn a little hastily while others shouldn’t have been drawn at all. It’s a big story and it’s not its purpose to give everyone an ending that makes them happy. One more episode would have been good for a more satisfying, if not gratifying conclusion,

      3. Agree…though I know 1 more episode might answer some questions it ended the way it had too. Maybe they’ll come up with a movie that might answer some questions 🧐

      1. I see the characters coming and going as acting in service to the story. The subplots are the best way to keep the short-arc characters from being two dimensional and taking the story with them. The lives of the Byrde family got real complicated in the first episode and they only got worse from there.
No worries, though. I also like the Red Green show and the Beverly Hillbillies (Best TV show EVER).

      1. And I hope you enjoy it. I am not going to buy an I phone to get 3 free months of Apple though, IF that deal is even available in Canada, which I doubt. (Not bitching, just saying.)

    1. I was slow to jump on the streaming bandwagon and only have two because they’re free. But the best invention ever made was the DVR, I record what I want and watch it whenever I want. Usually when the husband is hunkered down with John Wayne.

      1. Need a break? Send him down to GA to see my mom. John Wayne and cheap Scotch all day and so much Trump loving bullshit the next time he sees your face, he’ll start to cry. I swear he’ll be a new man.

  2. We love Apple TV. Both of those shows were great, and we also LOVE ROY KENT. F*&CKING ROY KENT!

I just started Shining Girls, and woo-hoo. It’s creepy and suspenseful.
The last Days Of Ptolomy Gray is amazing.
    I liked Severence.

I’ve been working on another “what I’ve been watching” post…so many good shows, so little time.

    1. That’s my problem, once I commit it’s hard to find the time. Thanks for the recommendations. I hate to say it but it looks like I might have to renew when my free subscription expires.

      1. I think it’s fairly inexpensive compared to some. My son (who moved in 8 yrs ago and will apparently never leave) came with an Apple TV “box” his in-laws gave them years ago so it doesn’t cost us…at least that is what he tells me. I don’t watch often but generally find something great every time I look

      1. I haven’t seen them all but Cathy has. It has the look of a sitcom but with elements of real life, adapting to change, development of incongruous relationships, a whole cast of characters growing and evolving. It’s ridiculous and very very smart at the same time.

  3. Ted Lasso is my absolute favourite show too. Binged both seasons and am chomping at the bit for the next. Love, love Roy and Keeley too. Also love a million little things for heartwarming drama
