.
I’ve been known to spend a fortune on unappreciated cat toys to amuse our four footed furry family members.
.

.
Some they like, some are banished to the drawer never to be batted again.
And then…
I bought a fish.
.

.
Which Lord Dudley Mountcatten has given his Royal stamp of approval.
.

.
He flings his fish all over the living room and happily chases it down.
.

.
And while he usually rejects toys that move, shake, spin or make any type of noise, he’s made an exception for this motion activated catnip fish that flaps.
.
.
You’ll have to trust me when I say he was going crazy for it, because in true cat fashion he stopped playing as soon as I started filming.
.

.
Buy your cat a fish.
Tell them Lord Dudley sent you…
.
I miss living with cats *sigh*

We had a two year period of being catless. It was Hell…

I’ll have to get one!
I have a doorway hanging toy that’s a yellow bird with a rattle inside. All the cats love it!! The cord has a quick snap that requires a very stong tug. I sometimes find it in other rooms and once it was outside, nearly under the house.

I never know what our guy will like. Other than feathered things. He loves feathers.

One of mine loves feathers, the rest don’t care. Four like lasers (get the one shaped like a paw), but most don’t see the red dot.
I’ve had great success with a kids fishing pole with a feather toy and bell on the end. I can spin it over my head like a bird, cast it near or far, let them take it or reel it back. Makes them insane!!

Dudley loves the laser! Goes absolutely crazy trying to catch it and I laugh so hard I lose my breath…

My cats Hated that Fish! They prefer toys that don’t move or make that noise. I had to get rid of it
They wouldn’t touch it even after I took the battery out.
However, they do like other Fish type toys that are soft so they can carry them around and flip them on their own.

It’s weird because our guy doesn’t like noisy toys either. But he likes this…

Every time I try to film him ripping around and playing he ceases all movement.

I too spend way too much money on toys for Peanut! We just want them to be happy and entertained, right?
That fish is hilarious. I can see why he’s a fan!

I’m not sure a fish could possibly beat the excitement of the string that hangs off my hoodie for Ody. Poor thing will be bored once it warms up again…

At Christmastime our vet was collecting gently used pet toys. Guess what ended up in their donation box? Our flopping catnip fish. Oh, sure, Cheddar liked it for a while, but tired of it eventually. I figured there was some other cat out there who would love it more (a la Dudley). And I’m super impressed with my cat toy self-control – my drawer is full, but it’s smaller than yours!

I have a hard time throwing them out and figure someone will play with them, someday.

I think he likes it ’cause it carries on like it’s dying. Cats like that sort of thing. 😈

When it flaps, it actually moves across the floor. He’s fascinated.
