.
We’ve had some seriously weird clouds recently so you know I had to stand out in the middle of the backyard and photograph them.
.

.
The pictures don’t really do justice to how strange they were …
.

.
But it will give you an idea.
The next day? I saw this..
.

.
Their photo is much more dramatic, but we’re a good 75 miles from Gorham so the effect was probably lessened at Casa River.
.

.
Still beautiful though.

Reminds me of a painter whose name eludes me at the moment… Beautiful!!

Not the one I was thinking of but he’s one of them.
There’s a painter or maybe several of the ones called the Group of Seven. He drew skies like that and landscapes too.

Beautiful – but would totally freak me out, assuming a tornado or aliens were on the way!!

You’d think so, but nothing happened. They just dissolved….

I saw someone say they are reminded of the Group of Seven. That is exactly what I thought! Fabulous! Thank you so much for sharing!

The Group of Seven were Canadian nature artists from 1920 to 1933. Here is a website with 380 prints of theire. https://www.pinterest.ca/gail1911/group-of-seven-paintings/

Partly sunny with a chance of undulatus asperatus. Sounds more like some dreadful disease…

I’ve seen some pretty wild clouds in my day, but those take the cake.

Beautifully foreboding. The world should gave been sucked into the air and through it into outer space. And it has a name? That means it’s been seen before. Just in your part of the world? I cannot imagine anything like that in the prairies.

I’ve never seen it before… but apparently it exists.

I like foreboding skies. I suddenly feel like my life is really a movie in the making.

I’ve seen some cool mammatus clouds before, but nothing like those. In the pictures they almost look fake, or like paintings. I wonder what weather event they portend…

Nothing. The next day was clear and sunny.
